Accordingto the tradition the first icon [image not made by hands] was the Holy Mandylion of Jesus Christ. And quite naturally is to start our journey in Iconography with painting icon of Jesus Christ. We recommend to the beginners to start with the icon of Jesus Christ Pantocrator. In the process of panting it the basic teachings of the iconography are revealed and the students learn the basic skills of icon painting. And for the advanced students it could be a way to perfection.
